Is there anything wrong with having a hankering for a cookie merely because of its brand name? I mean,
Keebler is a cute name, but I don't yearn for a
fudge stripe cuz of the Keebler name.
Pepperidge Farm is another example - fine name, but not the reason I want an
orange chocolate milano.
I pose the question because I was reading the latest email newsletter from
Food 411 and shockingly, what caught my eye more than any of the email content was the skyscraper ad on the right hand side. The ad was for
Marnee's Cookies. A couple of thoughts immediately entered my mind:
- Oh my gosh! My name on a cookie!
- What a strange spelling for my name.
- If my name's on it, these better taste good, dammit!
After spending a fair amount of time on their website, my hunch is I'll be plenty satisfied and my name safely untarnished. The first cookie on the list to try will be
Marnee's Destiny, concocted of cinnamon, sugar, toffee, and walnuts. Yum. Then I'll go for
Marnee's Xanadu, a cookie comprised of semi-sweet chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, coconut, and walnuts. Their store, called Marnee's Cookie Bistro, is located in Bath, Maine, but you can order all the goodies from the website, too.
Marnee's Cookie Bistro in Bath, MaineI have yet to make the trek to Bath or order them online, but I really really really really want a
Marnee cookie!

Marni is an appealing name, quite tasteful even when spelled with an "i" not 2 "e's"! I can see how Marni cookies, Marni cakes, Marni breads, anything Marni would be very popular! :-)
I highly recommend you try these cookies (even if she spelled your name wrong :^). I had the opportunity to visit Marnee's yesterday and OMG! You want to talk about a killer cookie? The Nirvana cookie with a cup of Hoity Toity Tea (black tea and earl grey mixed) and I was in HEAVEN!
Joyce - I like my name, too. :-)
Tiffany - I definitely intend to try them. You are so lucky to be able to visit the shop in person!!!
I have a mission for you...I was trying to get the domain name "tcakes4u.com" for my diaper cakes, but it's already taken. It's a bakery in L.A.!!! You must find them and make sure they are worthy of the domain I want!! Thanks, Marni ;)
tiffany k. - i am up to the challenge! but where to begin? how do i find this place that stole your name! i think they are mail order only. ::sigh::
